We are currently working with autism researchers, autism support networks and enterprise schemes, health and social care commissioners and local authority employment initiatives to improve access to employment for people with autism and Asperger’s Syndrome.
We offer psychological support for clients who are experiencing difficulties with access to employment, coping with difficulties in their employment environment or wanting to change employment.
Another support service that we offer is for both the employer and the employee, in which we use individualised interviews, observations and discussions, to look at the social and cognitive and sensory issues relevant to the client’s autism or Asperger’s Syndrome. We would then advise on how you or your relative can be best supported in the workplace.
This may include:
- Advising your employers on suitable adjustments that can be made to the working environment;
- Offering training about autism for your employers;
- Or advising on scheduling of work activities and identifying solutions to potential difficulties.
How We Can Help Now
Information about autistic spectrum conditions is constantly evolving. At PFA we aim to keep in touch with new developments through local and national networks and through our links with autism researchers and people whose lives are affected by autism or Asperger’s Syndrome. This helps us to design and deliver a range of bespoke services, which are current, relevant and drawn from best practice. For more information about any of our services click below:
